What are Control Cables?
Control cables carry signals and auxiliary power between panels, sensors, actuators, and building systems. Golden Hills Co manufactures multi-core constructions for clean, reliable control wiring in commercial buildings, industry, utilities, and infrastructure—with consistent color coding/legends to speed installation and inspection.
Typical uses: BMS/EMS, HVAC (AHUs, chillers, VAVs), PLC/SCADA I/O, lifts/escalators control power, access/FA/CCTV power feeds, packaging lines & process skids.
Product variants
Unshielded Control Cable — PVC/PVC
Multi-core CU/PVC/PVC, 300/500V; Class 2/5; numbered or color-coded cores; indoor/general use.
Use for: panels, BMS/HVAC, general control power.
Foil-Shielded Control Cable — PVC/AL-PET/PVC
Overall aluminum/polyester foil + tinned copper drain; improved noise rejection for long runs and ELV control power.
Use for: BMS trunks, PLC I/O, areas with moderate EMI.
Braid-Shielded Control Cable — PVC/TCB/PVC
Tinned copper braid for higher coverage and mechanical robustness; optional foil + braid.
Use for: VFD environments, elevator rooms, dense plant areas.
Pairs/Triads (on request)
Belden-style pair/triad builds for instrumentation/signals where the spec requires twisted elements.
Key Qualities
- Cleaner signals, less noise — Shielded options (foil/braid) help control integrity near VFDs and long runs.
- Installer-friendly — Numbered or color-coded cores + crisp print legends = faster terminations & fewer errors.
- Traceable quality — In-house routine tests with batch traceability; reports supplied with orders.
- Built to spec — Constructions aligned to relevant IEC/BS/UL requirements and project documentation.
- Program certainty — Typical 2–4 week lead times, pre-cut lengths, and labeled drums streamline site work.
When do I need shielding?
Use foil shielding for general EMI reduction on long runs and shared trays; choose braid where higher coverage or mechanical robustness is required (e.g., VFD rooms).
Numbers or colors for core ID?
Numbered cores simplify tracing in large counts; color-coded suits smaller counts and quick field ID. Both supplied to market conventions.
Do you offer LSZH?
Yes—LSZH sheaths are available where low smoke & halogen-free performance is specified (public/critical areas).
